Assuming it checks out, super low mileage S2Ks seem to be bringing mid $20's. Also depends on what part of the country you are in.

Do you know where to look for the 10 VIN #'s on the various body panels? Good luck and let us know how you make out.

I'm new on the forum but it's looking like that's about to change. I'm looking at a black 2005 with 160k. It doesn't run so it's kind of a mystery on the condition of the motor, iv been told it's the head gasket. Other than that it's in great shape. I love a project and would fix it myself so that part doesn't scare me. Only thing that does is what I'm going to see when I break the motor down. A little tlc and it would look brand new. Do yall think 6500 is a fair price? Thanks!

Price depends on condition of the car other than it not running. You can spend $2,500+ on a used motor for these cars, and I'd plan on this as your worst case scenario. Chances are there is more wrong than just a head gasket.

Look at prices of a RUNNING S2k with that mileage, subtract repairs and a risk factor, and negotiate from there. I'd thing 5k is a good point on a non-running S2k.

1. 2007 GPW with black/red interior. 62k miles.
2. rear-ended in 2009 and incurred $3,200 of damage. missing all three rear VINs.
3. front lip is missing the VIN
4. Car has Continental Extreme Contact DWS. Replaced rears about 12k ago and they are almost shot (seems like some heavy use)
5. Ragtop is patched and will need replacing soon.
6. Curb rash on one wheel. Front has multiple chips and probably needs a respray.
7. Owned for 7 years by 54-61 year old engineer. Very honest sounding and comfortable on the phone.
8. Car is based in PA. I was told it has never been driven in the snow but see this picture.

What do y'all think - is that clearly rust? Should I run for the hills? Asking $19.5k but guessing he would come down given the top and tires.

For the condition of the car you have described, I think the price is high. I would keep on looking.

I just spent the last 6 weeks shopping for my first S.

Obviously just my opinion but at that price I think there might be better deals out there if you're patient.

Now if he;s willing to come down a couple thousand......

Seems entirely too expensive given the history

Front lips don't have vins. So the car was rear ended and new bumpers and trunk were used. Is it really that big a deal? If you can use that as ammo to bring the price down then go for it
