hey all CR owners, i'm considering a CR, but there is 1 issue i need to ask u guys.

since CR is hardtop, on a sunny day, i remove my hardtop off and go for a drive. what happens when it suddenly rain when i'm 15mins from home? what happens when u need to go into a restaurant and lunch....do u leave ur CR topless parked outside for that time? isn't it dangersous? besides ppl stealing stuff inside the car? what if some kid jumps in, release the handbreak and put it in neutral?

just curious how the CR owners deal with this stuff and may have a solution that i can't think of.... thanks!
I keep an oversized umbrella in the trunk and a small cover made for convertibles if it is parked.

I've found a few during my search...

Grand Prix White 2008 S2000 CR with AC/Audio
99 Miles (lots of test driving)
Sitting on their lot since April 2008
Dickinson, ND
www.dpmotors.com
I offered $26,500 for the car, they replied with a quote of $31,000 + IL taxes/fees.

Grand Prix White 2009 S2000 CR with AC/Audio
71 Miles (they claim conservative test drives)
Sitting on their lot for at least 1 month. They claim multiple interested parties. Talk to Samir.
Houston, TX
www.hondaofclearlake.com
Their lowest price quote to me was $34,000 OTD with TX taxes/fees.

There is one on eBay from a dealer in FL, last I checked. 2008 without AC/Audio.

That's all I've found lately... The quotes above are from June 25, 2009. I ended up buying a 2009 Black CR with AC/Audio, so I have no use for these leads.

Best of luck!

Forget everything I said before. Call Dan Porter Honda in Dickinson, ND at (800)626-3231 , and ask if they have this VIN in stock, JHMAP21218S002043. It MAY be the ONLY GPW still for sale as NEW.

EDIT: Here is your car... http://dpmotors.com/Search/details.cfm?IID=500977264

Info shows that car sold April 30th, 2009... Try again... It'd be interesting to know if it did or did not, but it certainly SHOULD have.

Call them. The car is in their showroom. What you see is probably the dealer having tried to sell the car, financing fell through and they didn't wind back the sale on the car. OR...this dealer bought the car from another dealer and fumbled the paperwork so it appears as "Sold."

As of Thursday, June 25, 2009 @ 3:30PM CST...the car was still in the showroom.

AC isn't hard to install, but it isn't cheap. The most difficult part will be running a couple wires that are not there on the Non-AC car. I don't know if dealers will be willing to do that without replacing the entire under hood harness. If they insist on replacing that entire wire harness, it will add quite a bit to the cost, labor and parts.

Unless you want to take on the project of gathering up the parts (used or new), doing a little wiring, and installing yourself, it is certainly cheaper to buy the car with it already installed. You'd still probably have to take it to someone to get the system checked and charged though.
