Is it possible to install a soft top in the CR? I imagine the mounting holes are there. I really want a CR for a lot of reasons, but I do not feel that I can sacrifice the versatility of putting a top up and down. I would us the car as a DD and living in AZ would want to use the top while at work, and top down driving to and from work.
Wow, I was just about to ask a similar question.

Does anyone know if the wiring harness for the CR still included the wiring for the soft top? Like plug and play?

I'm just curious. Also, the brace under the tonneau, is it welded or bolted on?

Welded. Why would you de-CR a CR? Go buy a regular S.

Actually Mulder, the additional bar in the CR above the bar that is in every S is indeed bolted in at 6 spots. 4 to the "tower" area and 2 to brackets that are welded to the roll hoop on each side. I am in the process of figuring out how to incorporate the bar in my addition of a soft top. It'll take some work, but I think it can be done while maintaining the functionality of the bar.

I'll have pictures showing this at some point.

And one good reason to modify a CR to your liking is the fact that CRs were pretty cheap at some dealerships, especially in the middle of winter when I bought mine, and it's a better platform to start with than the base S for my needs.

Now, If I had the last one built or some other really rare combination, I wouldn't think of modding it, but everything I have done thus far can be undone with relative ease, so I am not going to lose any sleep over it.

It is painted, but not back on the car yet. The body shop did a fine job on it.

Hmm i think this car is quiet but i did have a moded evo. But hey if its to much for u go get a BMW this is a sports car it should make some noise. Im really considering get a full exasut with a test pipe for this car just for the sound i love the way the S sounds with a exaust. But not sure if i want to do that to the CR yet. I to was considering trying to soft top this car but hmm i see way to many people trying to slash the top to get our seats if every one does it to the normal S. I have come to love the hard top and it sets the car off to me.

9.5 years after I first saw the S2000 and just 8.5 years after I posted the thread above...

I just signed the papers on a flawless 2009 Berlina Black S2000 CR with AC/Audio tonight. I'll be picking up my new ride next week.

Just wanted to say thanks to the members who gave me a few tips along the way. I'll be posting more/better photos when I take delivery. It's going to be a REALLY long week...
