Actually, this is shouldn't really be too surprising. His age may be reason why he made that statement but he is dead on. That is the beauty of the S2000. It is predicated on a "vintage" roadster with some modern elements, but at its core design, it is retro in its styling.

Actually, it is the reason why I bought my S2000 in Sebring Silver. Totally classic and will never go out of style.

A lot of family members tell me that my car is a "Mid Life Crisis" car, I don't see why. Although I bought mines a month before my first kid was born.

Porsche . . . I couldn't believe when someone asked if my s2000 was a Porsche. What Porsche does the s2000 resemble in the slightest bit? A Boxster? But then again . . . is a Boxster even really considered a Porsche?

No one has ever said anything other than, "nice", "looks good" or "sharp". This is the first car I have owned that gets this much attention, it helps that I keep the car very clean so it looks like it's new and completely stock so it still has the look Honda intended.

MY family members and friends never comment because my older brother had an yellow '01 back in the day so it wasn't a surprise to them when I bought mine.

I remember back in '01 some girl asking me in front of a bunch of my friends if it was a Del Sol...

People ask because they are not car people. It's not that they think the car looks like one (Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, ect) but because those are the only cars they know.
Nice car - Mercedes.
Fast car - Porsche.
Honda - Civic.
