CDELENA,

Since I don't have the HELM manual, how many map sensors do we have? I know about the one near the throttle body.

I also have the intermittent VTEC engagement/disengagement problem. Thanks for the possible solution.

Just the one on top of the throttle body. Now the question is how often to we have to fool with this.. will there be a revised part from Honda that doesn't stick?

I resolved the poor quality sound system problem.. do I have to do that with the rest of the car? Just another cheap component!

Chris, if you've got about 20 min. to spare I've got an interesting thing for you to check.

My hunch is that if you remove the throttle body from the intake manifold and inspect the entrance to the manifold, you will see that the "quality" casting has left a ledge at the opening. To see this, place the TB gasket on to the intake manifold and see what's hanging in/out. I think this condition messes with the MAP sensor.

Oh, and BTW you are welcome

I know the thread is stale, but it's relevant to what I just experienced in the car:
- I just changed oil at 6k miles to Mobil1 10w30
- This is the ~3rd day on the new oil
- I was pulling onto the freeway, car was at 2-bars temp.
- When I hit 6krpm it felt like I'd hit a rev limiter, happened in both 1st & 2nd.
- Once up to 3-bars, I tried it again, and everything seems fine.

... I know I'm not supposed to be driving it hard when it's not fully warm, and I think this is the 1st time I've ever done it. So, I'm wondering:
1) Does the S2k have a lower rev limiter when cold?
2) I'm a huge believer in Mobil1, but... could it have something to do with this? Nah...
3) I pulled a plug off of a connector on the passenger-front side of the block to make getting at the oil filter a bit more convenient. It was plugged into something that had a small metal cannister on it (IIRC). I plugged it back in, but perhaps I have a dirty connection here?

Thanks,
Scott

You need 3 bars to VTEC!! It is built in the ECU.

Just my humble opinion, and I know from reading the posts that many of you swear by Techron, but...

Do not add ANYTHING to your fuel (fuel additives of any kind) unless you know that you have a fuel delivery problem. The one time I added Techron to my Integra, just to maintain fuel system cleanliness I was thinking, I had major stumble/hesitation problems until that tank of gas was gone. Most gasoline these days (if you buy a name-brand fuel, as you should) has built-in additives that will keep your injectors clean, no additional fuel additives are needed or will provide any benefits but rather may cause problems as it did in my case.
