Default Oil usage (stopped on my car)

I changed my break-in oil at 3K miles exactly because the break-in oil was looking so bad and it was consuming a bit of oil every time I checked it. I still check the oil every time I run the car hard - but since I switched the oil to Castrol GTX 10/30 it hasn't needed a drop added. Now at 5K miles. Oil consumption has never really bothered me in other cars - so even if it did eat some oil it wouldn't worry me - the great thing overall is that the oil is still light honey in color - not bad for 2K miles...I guess I'm used to high-boost turbos that turn the oil dark almost immediately.

at 1800 miles my s2k looks like it stopped using oil too, even with constant vtec use. engine compression braking helps a lot.

oh yeah castrol gtx 10w30 is really good choice, it has a high amount of molybdenum(which is found in the original breakin oil).

good luck.

Mine is, and has been since I got it, every week when I fill it up and check the oil. Not really that much I guess but I am nearing 9000 miles now and was hoping it would have tapered off/stopped by now. I have used nothing but Honda oil in mine thus far adn would like to be able to switch to mobil1 as soon as it stops consuming oil. But from what I hear it may never stop completely. I guess if by 15k or so it hasn't stopped, I'll just switch anyway.

I have one of the better oil eaters. It was using a quart every 1,700 miles on average until I hit 9k. Now in the last 4k miles it's only used 4/10 quart; so, I'm thinking I can say oil usage has stopped on my car too.
