To all,
I know about the miata tube for the rear window, but there was another product like a towel you slip under the top overlap and across the rear window for protection.
I've been searching, but I can't find it......man I feel so dumb . I know it is in here somewhere! Does anyone have the link??
Thanks,
Barry & Donna

The MUZ Mat goes in the well where the top retracts into....it's essential. Some also use a Miata tube, or a towel (literally). MUZ goes on the inside and Tube or Towel on the outside.........

I use a soft terrycloth towel to cover (tuck in) the outside of the rear window as you described. It's just about the right size and protects the window from being scratched and unduly creased when it folds on itself as the top is lowered.

muz: I already ordered your well mat for the inside.
What I am looking for is a product that some company offers which is like the miata tube but in towel form, I think. I know it recently was discussed on the board here but I can't find it in my searches. Any help?
Barry

Make one. Get a piece of pipe insulation. Not the one with the sticky stuff. Take a towell about the length of the rear window. Cut your insulation the same length. Stuff the long edge seams in the pipe insulation split so the insulation tube is inside the towell. There you go. Place it on the rear window and drop the top. Check it half way if you like to make sure it's in the right spot.

There was a person at one of Mingsters meets (I think it was Edasauras) that had something from BMW that covered the rear window. It clipped onto the edge of the covertible top, near the window and draped down over the window. There was a picture at this link before, but I don't think it's there anymore.

You might want to e-mail Mingster for the pic.
The window cover was for a BMW Z3 and it costs around $40 US. It actually had a slight tube in the back of it so it not only covered the window completely, but also prevented it from creasing.

Some have used foam "swimming pool noodles" instead of a miata tube to protact the "outside" of the rear window. There was an owner form ND who had posted a photo link on one of the old forums.
