My comment was directed at the pic that CG posted. I agree that the pic CG posted and the others are two different cars. The one that CG posted resulted in fatalites if I remember right.

This car was crashed early in 2000 near Lake Tahoe. I never heard what the speed was but I think the guy at the wrecking yard told me that it appeared to have have rolled and hit the trees. He believed two people died in the crash. The car still had a temp plate. The 100mph crash may have been the gentleman in Tally, FL. who had a spat with his wife about the same time as this picture. He got in his car mad and lost it in a tight curve at high speed, hit a curb or something and rolled into a tree. He died.

I also have an opinion on what I think happened to the occupants. I don't THINK there was a passenger in the car. If you look at the passenger side pic, you see the lack of blood anywhere in the compartment.

Blood stains leather, badly and quickly, even on the blackest of black leather. There is no blood "run-off" down the passenger side door area on the outside of the car. Blood leaves a nice waxy film on painted surfaces that takes alot of rubbing to get off. I don't think anyone was thinking about shining up the car after the accident.

Another note, if there was a passenger in the car, that person would have been trapped under the folded over wreckage. To get that person out, I would guess rescue workers would have to bend or cut the body outwards, away from the victim. I see no door, hence a straight cutting of the door. Also the door could have just been "blown" or destroyed at impact.

Can anyone else confer or dispute? Interested in reading other opinions.

Driver airbag looks like it did deploy without the front having taken much of a hit if any.

That is some seriously gruesome sh!t. Street racers beware.

This should be a good sanity check for all of us.

Scary. I agree we all need to make it a point to be careful for ourselves and others.

I agree with Luder94. Car was most likely not occupied.

Prolene, airbag did not deploy. The cover is still on the wheel. If it had deployed, the cover would be gone and there would be white powder evident all over the interior.
