Default Which one?

Hey all,

I'm new to the s2k and hope to be buying one soon. I just wanted some respected professional s2k owner's opinions. I'm looking at 2 cars a MY06 and a MY07.

MY06: http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ct=u...ice=&cardist=20

MY07: http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ct=u...ice=&cardist=41

So far I have test drove the MY06. It's only got 19k mi and they only want 21000 for it. It's a sweet car, new tires and everything looks fine except for the front bumper being slightly misaligned on the passenger side. And I mean SLIGHTLY maybe off by 1cm. It also has a clean car fax, which the dealer gave me. I feel pretty good about it, but not so sure about the red carpet.

However, tomorrow I'm going to drive the MY07. It's only got 17k mi and they want ONLY 22000 for it. I cant really tell by the pics but it looks like it has an aftermarket front lip. Can you guys tell?

Both look like good deals to me though.

Any opinions? Anything I should be looking out for in particluar with these model years? Would anybody be able to run a carfax on the MY07?

Thanks in advance for all the input.

Levon

I'd go with the '06 simply b/c I'm not a fan of rio. Get the dealer to go $21k OTD or less by using the '07 as leverage.

That looks like an ap1 lip.

Yeah I do like the silverstone, myself. The place with the MY06 is a no haggle place, only thing is that I will be trading in my 07 Scion TC. I owe about 16500 on it and the dealership with the MY06 sells the TC for 14600. (no haggle) so it looks like I'll roll 2k in negative equity into the MY06.

So how should I go about it? I'm thinking of bringing in the MY07 autotrader ad and telling them, with my trade 23000 OTD. What do you all think? I think its ballzy!

Depends on what color you like. my advice is to spend extra for the color you want if you have to. At first no matter what color you get you will like it but give it a month or a year and you will wish you had gotten the color you like the best. With that being said i would suggest getting the color you like best. If possible i would keep the tc and sell it private party i know that may not be possible but it would be alot better for you i would imagine.

I think they're pretty much the same car. Go with your gut instinct when you drive it. Which one felt like "you" when you drive it. Cars pick their owners you know. Transformers taught me that.

You are going to roll more than 2K negative on your scion. Just because the dealer is most likely to buy our TC for less than they would sell one for, that's business. They'll explain to you that it takes money for them to ready your car for sale, yadda yadda yadda...
