OOPS, forgot about the e-brake!
Jon, that grunching noise is probably the clutch, if you are decelerating. I would agree with Aus, that the worst you have probably have done is to boil your brake fluid. Have you noticed a soft brake pedal? You may want to bleed the brakes, but if your pedal feels the same, it's probably fine. You may have glazed your rear pads, too. When you bleed, you may also want to put new rear pads on...

I think Greg is right about the clutch, because when i hold the clutch down and rev, i feel a rumbling under my clutch foot between 2000 and 3000 rpm.
The brakes have seemed a little soft, but today i pulled a 40mph stop in about 10 feet (where the hell did that stop sign come from?) today so they seem alright.
