Default Are our xenons the best you've ever driven?

The last 3 cars I've had with xenons were all 3 series, and I thought their xenons were the best out there. Then I picked up my S2000 and their even better. So sharp, focused and perfect cut off.

Just thought I'd see if you all agree w/ me.

Shamless plug...My 04 Silverstone if for sale in the classifieds...

My dad's M3 with dual xenon's was the best I've ever driven. Ours are a reasonable second though.

I have to disagree. My 330 has Bi-xenons as well, and I think these S2000 ones are MUCH more focus and precise.

The "bi" part of the bi-xenon only come into play on the high beams though, so the lows are the regular xenons the 3 series have had since 99.

I guess with the hi and low's on the BMW's might be brighter, but not nearly as defined.

no sense arguing though, they are both great systems.

both great. i really love the auto-levelling of the bimmers though. it comes in quite handy on hilly terrain.

Yes - the S2000s aren't self-leveling and therefore they're the worst HIDs on the market IMO.

I've gotten honks several times from people that I'm pretty sure thought I was flashing them or running with high-beams.

I've noticed that the cut-off isn't quite even; the right "field of illumination" cuts off just a little bit above the left field of illumination, with a little zig in the middle, kind of like this:

The s2000 beam pattern is so sharply defined. Sometimes I have trouble reading really highly placed signs on the highway. Light from halogen lamps seems more diffuse.

the differance in the pattern, is set up to be lower for the oncoming traffic. it is normal

The headlights are the best I've ever witnessed, only downside is coming up a steep hill, I have no choice but to put on my high beams.

I care little for the effects of others though

The left beam is pointed lower to avoid blinding oncoming traffic in the left lane.

All headlights are configured in this manner by law.

Really?! I never knew. You really can make out the difference in the S2000, I'll give it that.

Trust me fellas (not that I have to worry about that anymore since moving) but in Vermont, or other areas where the best roads are winding, hilly, tree-lined, etc; the HIDS are a pain in the ass at night. You'll crest a hill and think you're at the top of Laguna Seca ready for the corkscrew, 'cept at night. For a second, you won't be able to see what the hell is in front of you until the car settles down.
