I came from a family of 6 kids, and the cars that my parents drove were a '91 Toyota Supra and '89 Toyota MR2. Please don't put your kids through what me and my siblings had to go through.

I learned from my parents mistakes, I bought my wife a CRV to haul us and my two kids around while I use my S strictly as a commuter for work. I have the passenger air bag unplugged just in case I ever had to strap one of them in.

I've had my s2000 before my son was born and years before I got married and my wife has a CR-V. The only time I wished I had a 4 door was when my wife dropped my son at her mom's and I got off from work early and couldn't pick him up. But those occasions are rare. We're expecting our second child soon, and I thought about getting another car, but it just doesn't make sense to me since I daily drive the S by myself 6 days per week.

Can I take the kids for a ride in the S, of course not, but I wouldn't be be giving them rides on the back of a GSXR either. I bought a nice AP1 to keep the price down and make it closer to what a motorcycle would cost. My S is a pleasure vehichle, just like a bike would be.

The only thing I question from time to time is that I should have driven an RX-8 also. Similar price, power, and handling with nice looks too. The reason for that is those tiny rears seats. I would like to know that if I were at work, and my wifes had car problems, should could put the kids in the back of the RX-8 if need be until the issues where her car were addressed.
Good idea trust me... Coming from somebdy that gave up riding 3 months ago you are making a good decision. The S is a great alternative for a fun drive if you don't have a bike. I don't even miss my F4i.

I feel the same way about the S and a bike. I keep the S because I wont ride a bike on public roads.

With title in hand, I'm keeping mine and wife has given me the thumbs up to get a garage queen. This one will become a track car

It's funny I found this thread... I just found out that my wife was pregnant 2 weeks ago. I've had my S since back in February though. Things are tight, but mostly because of rent/car payments.

We have a 2004 Nissan Pathfinder together, she has an infiniti G35 coupe, and I now have the S2k after selling my Civic. Personally I think despite we have 3 car payments (The SUV is done fairly soon) but money will still be tight.. I'll be using the SUV and put the S on the backburner as a weekend warrior... Which works for me just fine because I dislike dailying the car as I want it more for my "hobby" use so I can keep it semi preserved and in good shape overall.

I'm not sure how well we will do with the kid in a G35 coupe when we aren't using the Pathfinder but I'm guessing its doable. I just look forward to the day where my child will be born and 80lbs so I can take them for they're first ride in the S2k top down haha.
Three car payments

Yeah It all started with our SUV about 5 years ago because we needed something bigger than our cars to haul groceries and shit around. Then eventually the wifes Prelude started shitting out and had close to 175k on it so instead of buying another pos we decided it was time to get her something reliable.

Then as for me I had a Civic up unit last February but I was unable to drive the car around town because it was heavily modified and PD knows who I am. I eventually sold it because I had to pay to have it pass smog which was $400 and I couldn't justify doing this any longer and I realized how much I outgrew the car... So I decided to get the S2k. Took part of the money I got from the Civic to pay the wife off my half for the truck and the rest went to my down payment on the S2k.

If I could go back NOW I might have done a few things differently but it is what is.

Keep the S and get reliable DD. The S will remind you of what it was like to be carefree and single...

It's funny how a lot of people have a baby and suddenly the S2000 has ta go. Hell, to a lot of people, the 2 door car has to go!!! And a 4 door car is the replacement. I'm a car guy, a pretty hardcore one. We always had Coupes with 2 kids. We just had a baby 6 months ago, and I still have the S2k. U can get a mid-90's Accord for family duties. The cost $2500, plus basic insurance. But I understand everyone has different situations.

I have to post on this even though I'm a new user and I am just about to buy an S2k - my 2nd son was born on Thursday... We also have a two year old.

I'm buying the honda because I sold my rocketship ('76 Datsun with an LS1/6spd) due to the reliability and the uncertainty that came with it. I used to drive the snot out of that thing (400rwhp, mid 11's in the 1/4) and it didn't phase me at all but now with a family I value being able to go somewhere and know I can hop in the driverseat and the car will turnover and drive every time. The datsun was great, a maching and a true sports car but I always had a bad feeling for some reason. So I sold it last week. Now my wife and I want a fun car for the summer we know will get us home to the kids without issue, the S2K fits that criteria. We know it won't be the monster the Z was but it's top down fun and will handle well. Conservative trade off for reliability and some gas milage too!

When our kids are older we may look for a family sports car but till then our 2012 Sienna SE and my 06 civic sedan will be fine for faimly duties and the S for fun date nights and my commute to work

In my case I just changed my wife's car for an SUV, I keep my S2K since I never take out the baby without the wife so I just use her vehicle to go out...
