Two [extremely important] questions to ya!!! :

1) Based on your experience, would you believe that the "caps" could be re-inserted? Or are your amber "caps" in there now...and just painted over ?

2) What did you do with your *amber* caps? I know Rick's Signature Accessories has been very interested in offering alternative innards (similar to their pre-'04 diffuser options) for the '04 model's headlamp design. But as of yet, I don't believe anyone has offered them the necessary innards.

1) yes, the caps can definitely be re-inserted. I only orange part i had painted over is the orange reflector to the side.

2) i still have my amber caps...just laying around in my trunk. so you saying for me to give ricks my innards?...

$1.79 here for premium.

Back on topic: I believe Rick's is already working on the '04+ lights. I'll PM Jeff(Stratocaster) as to their progress. Thank you, Charles, for sharing how and what parts you removed/painted. i wondered if you put anything back over the turn signal, but you've answered that question. Thanks, w1ngman, for asking said question.

Dave, when are you available?
