No.....i went to the precinct the next day as a "fix it" ticket. Told the entire place the cop was a moron in front of his face. The foglight is a good idea...thanks!......

 

Not sure if that will get you past the law or not but it is a reflector and it does light up red and, for all practicality, it's OEM.

THis is not my car......I think they treat the lens with something to do that. Looks great. search for a thread named "darkened tailight"

I think you missed my point. As quoted from the legal post above:

-Brake lights on vehicles newer than 1979 must be red (24603 VC).

The lexus LIGHTS are red.

-Two red reflectors are required on the rear of cars and trucks (24607 VC).

That's what the bumper has.

-Incorrect color of turn signal. It must be white or yellow to the front, red or yellow to the rear (24953 VC).

The LIGHTS are.

-Tail lights that incorporate a bulb with a red tint or coating. In general, custom tail lights that incorporate a clear outer shell and red inner lens are legal (24011 VC).

I just made a mistake thinking that the LENSE had to be red.

As I stated earlier, I am well aware of the red reflectors on the bumper and never claimed that they weren't there.

It's obvious that the lights are LEGAL as I doubt any manufacturer would install components that aren't. I was just questioning how they got away with it being legal since I erroneously thought there had to be a red lense in the tail light assembly to be legal.
