Default Pair of brand new seats - $950

Too good to be true! I sent him an email stating that one seat brand new goes for $4,000. He said he has a friend that works for honda and gets him discounts. I said if you bought them from the dealer then there must be an invoice for the sale. Also, look at his selling history, looks like alot of pieces stolen.

Look at his selling history, these are not the only pair of s2000 seats sold by him.

Looks to me like he goes to those salvaged car yards. Recently totaled cars are always showing up and ripe for the picking if it's cheap enough to buy from the insurance company. For instance, when my 99 Camry got totaled from frontal impact, it was demeaned too expensive to fix. They towed my car away and I never saw it again and got a check for it about a month later. All the interior accessories were still in great condition. The seats were well kempt and everything.

I would be surprised if they are stolen -- even though he claims the seats aren't stolen. Just take a look at his other items, I have a hard time believing what he said about his 'connections' with Honda. Also, the seats are slightly used (he said the seats were basically brand new).

Oh well ... on a side note, does anyone know if I can replace the middle inserts and/or the headrest on the 2006 seats? I'm thinking of buying 2006 seats and just replace the headrests with a pre-06 ones ..

Thanks.

I would bet they are stollen seats. They are the fort lauderdale area and that area of Florida has seen a large amount of theft from what I've seen.

For new seats that's not a bad price. But they can be had for less if you find them at the right time in the FS area.

Why do the seats cost 4k a piece from the dealer. Don't mean to hijack but its been buggin me for a while as to why S2k seats costs so much. My current understanding is that they're made by Recaro and come in some 40+ piece that need to be assembled by a Honda technician. Is there something special about thi seats or the material they're made of?
