If I'm sure that it won't rain, then the top stays down when I park it. If I were uncomfortable parking with the top down somewhere, I'd drive the beater.

Depends on the situation, but if i am going to be away from my car for any period of time i will put the top up.
I am to scared of having birds shit in my car. I've already had one close call. I came back to my car and there was a bird shit on the passenger side vanity mirror. Talk about a near miss.

always up, even if i park at a close relatives house. got to watch out for those birds or unexpected rain storms!

 

I used to leave it down way too often...but paid the price. I was parked in my buddies driveway one night with the top down and we got engrossed in Playstation 2. After a couple hours I looked out the window and it was pouring rain outside!!! There was so much water in my car that the little compartment behind the cupholder was overflowing. Even with about 8 bath towels I could not soak up all the water from the seats and everywhere else. I basically assumed that the interior was ruined, but after letting it "air out" on a couple hot summer days, you can't even tell it ever got wet!!! Guess I got lucky!

 

Depends on the neighborhood. Most of the time it is up - specially when I cannot see it. But then again, I always park the car in the middle of the parking lot (for exercise and safety) so it is more exposed and less likely for someone to mess with it. I NEVER PARK the car next to another one. So I have been known to leave the top down.
