Default Passenger Airbag Disable

There is some good info in the archives regarding disabling the passenger side airbag. However, many owners who have installed Honda's kit have said that there is no switch available for 2004/2005 model years. I have a call in to Honda to verify that this is still the case.

Has anyone had the switch installed in their 04 or 05? Those new dads (moms) know that riding with the little guy (gal) would be awsome. If only Honda had thought of their smart sensor sooner.

There are places you can go to that will put a disable switch in for you. It has been done to several I know. It costs around $300 and involves some paperwork. You'd have to look around your area for an installer though. I don't think the dealerships have anything to do with it.

Honda does in fact have a kit. Once a case is opened with AHM, they help you find a dealer that does the install after the NHTSA paperwork has been filled out. The 3rd party kit sounds like an interesting idea. However, I would feel more comfortable with the Honda product (installed by a Honda dealer).
