I'm going to guess you fall into the older, balding, fat men who need confort and smoother ride for their potbellies catagory.

the ap2 was made smoother and more comfy, two things the S2000 was not supposed to be.
Hey! I'm an old, fat, bald man and I love my AP1....

Stock and daily driven, I'd pick an AP2... >06+

But for a weekend driver, I wouldn't trade my geared, boosted, and braced AP1!

that's what I'm talking about.

Joe (I want S) is going to use this as a weekend car. i think he'll be fine with the ap1.

It still amazes me that people talk about the AP2 like it had 100 more ftlbs of torque, it's just 10 ftlbs, not that much of a difference.

Just my opinion, I like the front end styling better on the AP1. Everyone will have their own personal opinion about this. I post this only to show that at least ONE person likes the AP1 styling better.

And for another odd-ball opinion of mine, I like the early AP1s with the larger, plastic rear window. I have problems seeing well enough out of the smaller glass one on later models -- probably due to the fact that I am fairly short.

hahahaha, your funny too. actually, i'm 23, pretty decent shape, in the military. have you owned both? ap1 and ap2? i have. they are both very similiar, buuut, the ap2 is a better car in a few small ways. like i said earlier, they are just soooo similiar. the ap2 is not that much softer than an ap1, trust me please dont be another person that makes stupid comments. thanks.

I would bet that most people who say AP2s are "comfy" have never even driven one. As someone who has owned both, the difference in ride quality is not much different. It is still a noisy, bone jarring, and bumpy ride. (I love it!) I am 21 btw.

You know, everybody including the car mag reviewers has said the AP1's ride is jarring. I remember that I bought some Preparation H before my first test drive in case I needed it afterwards! But even though I'm truly an old man, I never found the AP1's ride to be jarring. It became less so when the OEM S02 tires wore out -- which didn't take long -- and I found the replacement tires to give a much smoother ride even though I opted for "Y" rated.

I recently took a 250 mile trip driving my daughters Z3. Now THERE is a jarring ride!

yeah, once the tires start to wear on the S, it can really make for a harsh ride.

I was speaking to one of my friends who splits his time between Japan and Toronto. I asked him what the Japanese think about their new F22C and he said they love it.

I asked why? He said they always envied us for getting it. They used to bore them to 2.2L.

I asked why again? He said 2.2L vs. 2.0L. It has more power and more torque. I asked what they thought about the lowered redline. He said they didn't even care.

That's just what he said.. I think they're both good and you guys are splitting hairs here. AP1 people will say AP1 is better and AP2 people will say AP2 is better.

I think AP2 is better.
