Just bought the HKS Hiper Exhaust and was wondering if I should buy some aftermarket header to compliment it. Ive heard that the stock header on the S2K is fine the way it is...any thoughts? If I do need a header, which is best in the 400-600 price range? Ive found a DC sports ceramic for bout 400...thanks for the input!

 

Rick's is the only header near that price range that I would look into. You may need to find one used to fit your price range though.

As for gains, they're minimal. The stock piece is VERY good. Look for a bump in the midrange power and nothing (or very slight losses) up top.

You will shave a few pounds off the car by going to an aftermarket header. Once again, this is a minimal change (under 10lbs, IIRC).

 

Is a performance header really needed? The short answer is No. Unless you are going for max NA power I don't think it is necessary. Also, I would combine a header with a single exhaust to get the most possible exhaust flow/max power, and your HKS (I have one too ) is not the most free flowing aftermarket exhaust, but it is the best sounding IMO. Just my thoughts.

Yah...I was told that a single exhaust would gain me more power but when I heard that sound clip off the HKS website I was SOLD! Damn that thing sounds sweet...thanks for the input on the header. I didn't wanna spend the money if I didn't have to...
