I have had my 04 s2k for 3 1/2 days, and i washed it one day, and literally 40 miles later the front wheels were covered in brake dust... Do i have crappy brake pads or whats going on here?

I once bought aftermarket brake pads that claimed to have "less" brake dust. I had to come up with another way to wash my wheels because it got so bad. The OEM pads are the BEST for brake dust, maybe you have some aftermarket ones?

Is the car brand new? New pads = dust.

From my experience after washing cars, if you do not was the tire sidewall, your rims will get dirty immediately after driving it even if you washed the rim. This means you actually have to wash it and not just spray tire shine on it. Try that out, it might help you out.

if you have aftermarket, it will create more brake dust. Thats why I switched back to OEM.

he's still running oem pads, i assume. btw try waxing your wheels as wisconsin s2k has already mentioned. it helps repel brake dust by not letting it stick to the wheel.
