Photos of new windscreen prototype: we have a winner: problems have been solved
I agree with both sides on this. There seems to be two functions desired. One is to minimize wind and two is to retain fold-back. This is Rick's product and he can and will do what he wants, it will also be well thought out. However, I agree that 1/4" to 1/2" off the top would have limited adverse effects to wind reduction and would make the product fold-back functional. Having to push back on the window would leave nasty finger prints and may also be somewhat difficult. Being an architect, I also appreciate the screen following the lines of the windshield frame and feel that 1/2" off the top would not interupt line. Again, it would be especially worth it if this restores full functionality to fold-back.
Rick, we/I are not trying to harass you about your decision on the windscreen. However, could you explain to us why it would be a good/bad idea to reduce hieght by 1/4" or so? Thanks. Your customers are listening!

I'll consider this. Sam and I will have to do one more round of testing anyway. But be sure that you understand that full functionality will not be restored by triming off 1/4" (if it's that little -- I think it's more like 1/2 to 1 inch minimum). Aesthetically, I think the current height is best.
Maybe we'll offer a version that's just short enought to clear the window and one that is designed for full height, a la the prototype in the pictures.
As for the logo size, when you see it from the distance most people would see it, it's just right.

Amen, Mingster. Balancing the trade offs is the issue. IMO the extra height, both for fuctionality and aesthetics, is worth the small annoyance of having to push the window out a bit to fold the aeroscreen back. And all these mods people want to try, as you well know, add to the final cost. Every new prototype is another $100 on top of the $500 I've already sunk into development costs.

Yes, that message will lead me to consult my attorney before I sell this thing to be sure I'm protected if one of you decides to sue me when you crack up your car.
I didn't realize I was planning to make a weapon.
