Photos of new windscreen prototype: we have a winner: problems have been solved
We won't be ready to take orders until we investigate production alternatives and work out a few production questions. And there's the logo permission question as well, although we think there's a solution to that particular problem. I'm guessing we'll be ready to take orders in about two-three weeks.
allow me to add a side comment:
rick and i will be doing this together. i on one hand will build the aeroscreen (with rick's design) like this:
this would be for those who don't have an aeroscreen
and rick's version will be for those who have honda's aeroscreen.

Rick,
that looks spectacular! I didn't think that I would like the logo, but it's very nice. Is the logo low enough to be out of the rear-view mirror image?
Are the pointy (Vulcan?) ears at all fragile? Have you considered rounding them off further? That would lessen any possible danger from them and reduce the possibility of them breaking off during raising/lowering the screen and cleaning the window.
Keep up the great work!

F1trainer:
I believe your assumption that 1" trim will restore funcionality of the top is flawed. In fact, I believe that if you add only an inch to the stock item, you will no longer have full functionality.
Remember that the combination of screen down, and the motion of lowering the roof is treacherous. The window folds inward during it's travel, interfereing with anything that projects backwards into it's path.
Personally, I believe this is the reason that the stock screen is it's current height. The setup had to be 'idiot proof'. I doubt safety was an issue nor was effectiveness. It was simply trimmed down so that the top would still operate with the wind-screen in any position.
As usual, I think Rick has thought this one through very thoroughly. So, as usual, I thank him for sharing his creations, and sign up for another in the series (minus the logo for me).
Dan.

Skarv,
I agree that the stock design was intended to be idiot-proof -- so that no damage would be done if the screen was up or down when the top is raised or lowered. So, it's idiot proof and useless, or at least only quasi-functional.
