Import Tuning Garage. Check the Group Buy section. (They're currently out of stock on those though, I'm waiting on mine)

the design of the box is it creates a sort of vacumm for the intake to suck in the fresh air from the outside.

if you start putting holes in it, it wont be as efficient as how it was designed.

it doesn't happen like how you have it in your head, where you'll get more air from the inside the engine and still suck in outside air. you lose the outside air all together with the hole in the box.

it's like trying to drink out of a straw that has a leak in it.
Wouldn't he get the suction back if he plugged up the original intake hole?

same set up as emil but i do have a heat shield plus radmat around rubber intake hose. i also have radmat around the whole airbox that's not seen along with a layer between the cf lid. i'm assuming air hitting the whole grill area is funneled through the airbox. whether or not it's useful air, it's probably cooler air. had aem cai and j's intake but went back to stock for hydrolock/carb reasons.

Yes, but then he'd be sucking in nothing but hot air from under the hood.

Sooooooooo, what's the benefit?

It's amazing to me, this car's been around for eight years and people still think they can modify the stock box to make noticeable gains.

My bad. I thought the tube hanging out the side of his air box lead down into his wheel well.
