I was expecting to see some really innovative cell phone mounts. Sorry guys, but I'm not impressed. Has anyone tried the cell phone holder from handa-accessories.com? It looks cheap, but it might do the trick. I'm looking to mount my cell phone somewhere near the speedo so I can see the little light flashing when I get a call (I usually don't hear my phone). I'd like to mount it behind the windshield wiper control arm thing. I need to figure out how to remove that plastic cut-out...

i originally had it mounted on the vent to the right of the center console, with a clip and a holder that is meant to slide into a vent, but it got in the way when i wanted to use the wipers, and it wsa in the way of the heat controls.....nice place, but not enough room!

John,

I like the momo shift knob alot. It feels great and makes the car seem even more sporty. It feels lower than stock, although I like that it has a larger diameter. It seems easier to find and since it is larger than stock and it fits better in my hand. I purchased it at a local sport import shop, however I see them on e-bay all the time. I also like the fact that the leather is perforated because it matches the steering wheel and the e-brake.

1. Airgate's install mutes his stereo when he has an incoming call. Unless the stereo is off or you are deaf, then the sound coming to a halt should catch your attention better than a flashing light.

2. My external speaker is mounted inside the vent behind the passenger seat. It is so loud (and clear) that I can hear while traveling at 80 MPH on the interstate with the top down.

How about you bend over and I shove your phone up your pipe so far, that when you see a twinkle in the corner of your eye, then you will know that you have an incoming call! How's that for the flashing light and innovation that you are looking for bud.

Well said SkipX! My install was done to impress me, not you.

I work in the wireless industry, hence lots of on the road talking, perfect with this install. If I did something else, I'd probably just have a clip mount.

Maybe impressed wasn't the right word. I would say airgate's install is too intrusive for my taste. Too many wires, etc.

Airgate - I'm glad you like it.

SkipX - Easy there tiger. I'm not in to that sort of thing...

I can accept your clarification. In the true spirit of the car's Ultimate forum, I will retract my evil statement.

Note: Airgate's install includes the handset for private conversations. This is probably the bulkiest, exposed, part of the in-car installation kit.
