I'm also evaluating where to put my cell phone. It was a no brainer in my Toyota Avalon, but this S2000 is something else.

Option 1 is to buy a Panavise bracket like Airgate's (see pictures above).
Option 2 is to use a very inexpensive swivel mount from Best Buy.

Here are a few pictures of Option 2 (not permanently attached yet):

Any comments from the peanut gallery? Would this detract from the overall beauty of the car?

I would really like to keep the phone in front of me (either of the above options would be OK). However, I'm a bit concerned about using the "permanent" double-sided tape used with Option 2.

I would do the exact swivel mount you have in the picture utilizing it on the PanaVise Mount.

I have a flip type phone so I'd put it in the belt clip it came with and clip that onto the mesh net on the passenger side of the center console (MY 02+). I got that idea from watching Wendy's S2k vid.

have you looked into one of these? you said that you change phones quite frequently. if you use a bluetooth enabled phone, this is pretty convenient..only downside is that i've battery life is somewhat suspect. other than that, you don't need to worry about where you place your phone because it's wireless. (and, you keep 2 hands on the steering wheel....err...1 hand on steering wheel, 1 on shifter...but you get the idea).

Get a phone with Bluetooth. You can put the phone anywhere on the car or just keep it in the holster. There are a few Bluetooth car kits, which will work with nay Bluetooth enabled phone. Or you could buy an adapter to convert a non-Bluetooth phone into one.

Mocky57, lanbrown

How exactly does that work? Does the bluetooth device get mounted in the car and communicate with the phone? This looks interesting, but I don't exactly understand what the advantage is or how it works. Please explain.

Bluetooth is a wireless communication standard. You can get a headset that is Bluetooth and thus no cards to the phone. So you can keep the phone in your pocket, holster, briefcase, etc. The range of it is up to 39 feet and does not need to be line of sight since it uses the radio spectrum (2.4GHz.) If you do not have a Bluetooth native phone, then you do not get the full feature set. My phone has voice activation and I can get the phones attention by a push of the button on the Bluetooth device and just say whom I want to call. There are more and more Bluetooth devices coming out. Eventually it will replace the integrated phones or the special phones the automakers use now. BMW has their own Motorola phone for their integrated systems, GM has their own hardware for OnStar. Once they move to Bluetooth, you will be ale to use any Bluetooth phone with their systems, unlike now.

Check out the Sony Ericsson HCB-30. You can find it at www.sonyericsson.com

There are others out there as well. If you wanted, you could just go with a headset, so you can use it out of the car as well.
