How/when it operates will depend on how you hook it up. You could run it off of the headlight circuit so it's only on when the lights are on, you could run it off of the switched circuit so it's only on when the key is in the ignition, or you could have it switched manually (either through a separate switch or by the dome light/doors).

1) Ground = yep, easy, center console.
2) Soft top = center console tapped on the emergency brake.
3) Power = cig lighter is an option, need to check on it's current rating (the mod needs <400mA), center console.
4) Brake = I could swear the brake line runs through the center console, but someone told me no...will check this out. If not, I'm positive it will be along one of the door sills.

What is the purpose of connecting the wire to the soft top control?

MacGyver,

I have no intention of doing this installation myself. Do you have any recommendations on where to go???

Thank You.

This was added so that when the top is up and the windscreen is down, you can't lower the top. This would break the windscreen (7/8 or Full height) as many have done over the year. Kinda a saftey feature.

#11 nice - I'm still in Mac! I haven't bought my fullsize/7/8th screen yet...was kinda waiting to see if I could have Rick ship directly to Mac for the retro fit and then ship to me. Is this going to be possible or should I order my windscreen now?

Great work on all this mac - I am certain it'll be the bomb!!!

Anyone have any advice on a full screen vs 7/8th screen? which is better?

i read all the posts and everyone is excited... me included. like mac said, don't ship anything his way yet. i'm waiting for the pix and final words for shipment. i'm quite far down the list but am sure that mac will be able to get them out quickly enough that all of us will have the coolest mod -- IMO.
