I've cut a couple of small pieces of rubberized non-skid shelf liner and placed it in the glove box and cup holder area which prevents anything in those areas from rattling around and also prevents scatches to the plastic in those areas. Also thinking of using this stuff in the soft-top tray area since it's thin ,light and very cheap.
You may be able to imagine some other uses for this stuff so next time your at the store, pick up a couple of rolls. It comes in all colors.
Edit- I've been thinking of keeping a door window sized piece of liner in the car for those times the sun is blasting you from the side. The liner is poreous which will still allow for some visability. Simply drape over the door window and secure in place by rolling up the window.

The opposite of brain science.
I THINK what they meant about closing with the windows up, was put the windows up BEFORE closing the doors so they seal beter against the rubber as opposed to pushing into the bottom of it.
I don't know if that's true, but to tell ya the truth when I park for the night I put the window up and open the passenger door so it's not pushing into the trim.

^ I put my wallet under the elastic band in the glove box.
Another shelf liner idea. Keep one roll in your car as an emergency fender protector away from home. You might even find a place under the hood away from excessive heat to store it. Everytime you open your hood, it's there if you need it.
Holy resurrected thread, Batman! Good thread though.
If I ever have a hat on and I wanted to bring the top down, but I don't want to thug around with it on backwards, I simply slide the rear opening portion of the hat over the shifter with the bill facing the passenger side. It doesn't get in the way and it doesn't fly away in the wind either.
