Keep a quart of oil in the trunk. Our cars burn a lot of oil when driving it hard.

Of course you need some good portable lighting if a bad thing happens at night.

Any SureFire flashlight will do - they range from $40 to $300 and use lithium batteries (10 yr. shelf life). The base Nitrolon model is a good choice, but I wouldn't argue with choosing a Mil Spec Combat Light.

The other thing to have, also very compact, is a Princeton Aurora Headlamp - 3 LEDs, under 3 oz., 58 hour burn time on the batteries (high power). Just the thing if you need to change a tire at night -- you only need to light up what your are looking at, not the whole area.

1. You can stack 8-10 cd's vertically in the lower glove box. Put my sunglasses (in a case) on top of them to the right of the trunk button. Fits nice.

2. Have to have a trash bag!! Hate trash in the cup holder. Found a very thin 6x8 inch black trash bag and velcro'd it just to the left side of the center console just in front of my right knee. Easy to find and reach.

3. Great place for an extra key (in magnetic holder) is through the center front grill opening on either side. There's a vertical metal surface that's perfect.

Here's a few solutions I'm looking for:
1. My right knee is always rubbing the left corner of the radio door when it's down.

2. The rearview mirror always has to be adjusted slightly by hand when I go from night to day. Any adjustments on it?

3. Wish the steering wheel didn't have a center vertical spoke on the bottom. Always like to rest my hand on the bottom center of the steering wheel but can't. No easy solution there, I know. Maybe I can install the steering wheel upside down.

Great thread!! Especially like the one for putting the garage door opener under the dash to the left of the steering wheel. Perfect! I've been keeping it in the front pocket of the above mentioned trash bag.

Useful tip for parking with cars on each side. I swear it holds true in most instances.

good one blaks2k. I'll have to remember this the next time I have to park next to other cars (which I usually avoid at all costs)

here is the pic at the end of your link, so no need to click thru.

Well, I have a few questions... I know theres a way to bypass the A/C turning on with the defrost... how? and also, wheres this "secret compartment" everyone is talking about... ?

Aside from that, I totally agree... just enjoy your car, take care of it, but don't NOT use it... its there to be used!
