I had a blowout on the westbound 210 @ 4:45AM today on the way to the gym. Left rear, going 90. Brand new OEM Bridgestone (hmm!) Potenza S02 WR. I put the left front on the rear and the spare on the front to avoid differential damage. I wouldn't have known to do this if I hadn't read a thread or post on this board. Thanks.

 

Blowout or deflation? This would be the first actual blowout I've heard of and would be important to know about.

I guess deflation is a better term. Since I posted the thread, I've been to the tire store. I ran over a piece of metal about an inch long. By the time I knew the tire was flat, it had shredded all the way around on the inside sidewall near the rim.

 

Sucks. Glad you and your car are OK.

 

Ouch. Glad you're okay--you were lucky I suspect that it happened at that (to me) ungodly hour, rather than later in the midst of a crowded commute.
