Default A present to my S

I just celebrated my 1 month anniversary with my S. My present to her is a Klasse concours kit... and a driving clinic for her driver!

I'm a newbie to RWD cars.. and I'm yet another statistic to having spun-out due to inexperience. Although I'm a rather conservative driver, rainy weather + 90' right turn + no concept of lift-throttle oversteer (and not knowing that you should NOT brake when counter-steering during an oversteer) = threat to other motorists!

Someone was definitely watching out for me from above as nothing was damaged/harmed. Driving back home, my lesson-learned was: "Dude... if you love your car, learn to drive."

So for starters, I just signed up for Buttonwillow's driving clinic on 4/20. From reading previous posts, paying for this $165 t-shirt seems to be a pretty good deal. Anyone else from here planning to go?

Do you get to drive your own car? I'm looking for a school or just some skidpad/track time. I want to find the "edge" but not on a public /mountain road.

but just wondering, do you worry about pushing your car too hard in a driving course would inpost any kind of damage to the engine, etc?

http://www.buttonwillowraceway.com/clinic.htm

They actually don't spend a lot of time lecturing which is good. You wanna spend the time driving.

wow, the driving clinic is something i want to do. but...i already signed up for the 4/20 ProSolo Auto-X Ladies School (does anyone want to be my "gentleman sponsor" and work the auto-x course on 4/20 in exchange for 2 practice runs in the afternoon and free entry into the championship on 4/21?). i might do the 6/9 clinic, tho.

Matters, if you're looking for track time, check out practice auto-x runs at www.solo2.com or track events by www.wurthmotorsports.com - a group of us are going to the next one in Pahrump, NV.

for all of the above, you drive your own car. are there other clinics out there (perhaps not so far away)?

Yeah, it's a bring-your-own-car kinda event. Like I said, I'm a rather conservative driver where just downshifting to squirt throughout the freeway is enough excitement for me. But I'll never truly appreciate the S unless I experience what it can offer. So better to do so in a controlled environment with someone guiding me than for me to explore for myself on the streets.

I had contacted SCCA - CalClub for driving clinic info and they recommended Buttonwillow. They also recommended trying SoloII. After this clinic (and perhaps another more), and a few more hundred miles I'd like to try auto-x.
