if you all had the choice of a new 07 or a new 08, what would u go for? price aside
I considered an 08 first. It was going to be a couple thousand more than the 07. The differences are not very noticable. The things that stood out were the different seats (Black-red). On the 07's, the seats are black with red inserts...on the 08 the entire front of the seat is red. I personally preferred the inserts. I also didn't care for the new wheels on the 08. They looked like they came off of a Miata. Some folks love the changes, and if that's the case, get what makes you happy. I certainly would have been happy with an 08, but even for the same price, I liked the 07 better.

For me, it just didnt' make sense to pay extra for small changes I didn't like. I plan on keeping this car for a long time, so if I ever consider getting rid of it, one model year shouldn't make a big difference in price

i completely agree, i'm just hoping they'll have a suitable '07 in january. dont get me wrong, i'd love an '08 brand new.. nothing beats getting the car immediately after the plastic wrap is taken off.. but i personally prefer the old wheels and the gauge cluster is hardly a change. im undecided about the seats. not sure how i feel about buying a 'new' '07 with test driven miles racked up on it though. last car i bought had 3 miles on it and i saw the car with the sealed plastic wrap still on it..

I'm interested in getting a new S2000 in the next couple of months and there are 2 dealers in my area with leftover 2006s. I emailed one dealer and he said he has a new yellow 2006 with 800 miles for $28.2k plus TTL. I know $28.2k isn't a good price for a 2006, but what do you guys think is a good price for a "new" 2006 with 800 miles? I'm thinking around $26k? Also I haven't even contacted the other dealer with another leftover 2006.

200 miles from the dealer isn't even close to new as far as im concerned. my last car purchase was new, 3 miles, plastic wrap still on the car. 200 miles is not..

800 miles is NOT new... that's 200 miles over recommended break-in period...

IMO the first 600 miles is critical...
imagine buying your car and right after you come out of the lot, you could already vtec the heck out of it...(that doesn't sound like a bad idea) anyway.. my point is.. if it has 800 miles on it... i'd rather buy a USED one for a used price. i paid $300 dollars over your dealers asking price, and i got a "kinda" NEW '07 with 40 miles in it.

Today i went to huntington beach norms reeves honda dealer(socal). They had 07 GPW blk/red interior s2k. in fact, they are the only one around 100miles radius from my house. Their asking price was 29100 + TTL, and it seems lil higher than wat im seeing from this thread. i was talkin to them and they seem to be pretty solid on their price.

Should I push it more? any techniques? or is it good price since GPW with blk/red interior is rare?

you should push it more... i bought mine from norm reeves(cerritos) that's no more than 10 miles from huntington beach, they gave me 28.8 +TTL, and that was last OCT... im pretty sure they will give an 07 for the same price, if not less, since 2007 is almost done.. and the MY08 is all out now...

i say push it.. if not.. then you can always go to cerritos.

the way to bring price down is talk to at least to diff dealer, and tell each other what the other is quoting you.. so they can try to beat it... don't make them feel that they are your only choice... that's why they seem pretty solid... i didn't even haggle for the price i got it... they offered it to me before they even knew how much i want the car for, it just so happen that their offer is the lowest i got from las vegas to Socal.

enjoy your hunting.. and don't forget to post pics.

i wouldn't say that, you might hurt MY08 owner's feelings,

i'll put it as, "not so good looking"
