Production numbers by color
I was told ...not sure if it is true ...that 8% of the production run are white! I was also told that close to 50% of the production run are silver. Seems a little high...but when i was looking for an s2000 in may of 2002 There was over 30 silvers avialable in New Jersey. There was no whites avialable and two black in the state. There was one red and maybe 3 yellows and about 6 blues.
For the difference between the Chicago paper price and MSRP (or MSRP+) you could easily get the car transported to CA. Just buy from the cheapest place and pay the $1000-1200 for the transport (higher if you choose enclosed).

I just might go out of state. I bought my Honda Odyssey from Jay Honda in Bedford, Ohio. They were $600 under sticker when the best I could do out here (2001) was 2 grand over, plus stupid add-ons like bug deflectors and undercoatings.
I contacted Jay Honda, and they are willing to go 2 grand under sticker for a 2002. As of two weeks ago, he did not have a definite quote on a 2003. What I may do is see what he can do for me early next year. While I want the car NOW, no need to rush, is there.
Thanks for all the replies.

daninoah, Thousand Oaks Honda had a 2003 white in a couple of weeks ago. Not sure if they sold it yet, you might want to give them a call. I haven't heard that they'll deal, though, and they always have some unbelievably outrageous price posted. See if you can get a lower quote from someone else and take it to them, they might match it, especially since it's getting close to the end of the month. I thought it looked sweet with the tan interior.
I would check out a broker. The one I went through delivered exactly the car I wanted in exactly the color I wanted.(Not saying all brokers work the same, plus location may be a factor) I was able to get an '03 suzuka blue fresh off the boat for almost $2000 below MSRP, and that included delivery to my work (from OR to WA). Plus they were kind enough to respect my wishes for delivery, such as it was still wrapped in plastic, no one had "test" driven it and it had between 8-15 miles on it (actual was 10 mi.). Just a another option...
