If I'm out in public I try to park next to a nicer car. Aren't many exotics in MO, but if you see a nice car, they don't want scratches on their car so they'll be careful when they are opening their doors. If there aren't any nice cars, I try to park where employees park which is away from the general public parking. If that route isn't available I just deal with walking a distance and park out in BFE.

The S2000 is so small that it is easy to park a little off center away from the driver's side door of the car to the right. Vans with sliding back doors are good to park next to as well as. I try to avoid big sedans with 3 feet wide doors as I think these are responsible for the worst dings.

i parkthe S2000 more carefully than the beater and over the last 5 years I think it shows.

Here, part of the problem is parking spaces are too narrow in some lots. By law, they are supposed to be 8' wide in my city, but violations are common, and nobody seems to be enforcing this law. I always try to park is a space between two "respectable looking cars" that aren't too large, so that the space between them is pretty wide. It has worked pretty well over the past 9 years.

I'm also one with a disability card. My saying for me is "Don't judge a book by its cover." I get some very dirty looks from people who walk by when i'm parking. i don't have the placard hanging till i'm done shutting off everything then I hang it up. I've had people try to stare me down then i hang it and then they just walk away. I also got yelled by someone trying to ask me what my handicap was and i just told them my saying. I was very cool headed. i wasn't going to have a yelling match with ignorance.

If you must use parking lots, I recommend something like this.

Shopping carts quiver in it's presence.

I had some douche box me in one day in a curb side parking space, with the back of his car blocking the service station/subway driveway.

So making sure not to hit the car in front of me as it was there before me. I forcibly removed the offending vehicle.

I don't know if the owner of the car was watching, their was a huge window in the servo.
But I didn't stick around to find out.

And don't worry it was a crappy car.

My cars quarter panel got hit and scratched by some guys door this past Saturday night at a restaurant. I had parked one spot away from a new camaro and 2 spots away from a 10 gt500. I come out and both of those cars are gone and 2 cars are right next to me and tons of other spots around. I immediately check the car and spot the ding. Well to make a long story short, cops wrote me a police report explaining everything and the owner never came out when paged! I'm waiting for his insurance to say if they will cover this. If not claims court will be in the future along with if I lose that case, I will be buying myself a F250 diesel and selling the S. It's people like these that make me go crazy and make me want to sell my car. Wish me the best of luck with everything!!! I should know on Friday!

When I am at the college, I park at the end of the road, and walk about 300 + meters to the school. I hate people.

Although i still try to park with one side of the car to a curb or "island" the first week i had my almost mint MY01 i was backing up, looking back, and let the car role just for a second, bumped right into my GFs jeep and got a nice black harry potter lightning bolt on my front bumper. After that i really let me gaurd down on the car. If its your DD, you can't get so crazy about mintyness.
