This one time at the park there was a squirrel.
Im gunna have to go with the "who cares who else drives it". Because in reality, It really doesn't matter, and if your not buying the car for yourself, and for other people (you know what i mean), then go buy the bmw
everyone i've met in j-ville that is on this forum is pretty cool. one guy is 18. i'm not sure how he aquired one, but he is a very mature and seemingly responsible person. i did have one instance where a punk kid, actually two punk kids, decided to pass me and one other car through a residnetial area with many blind intersections at night at a speed of about 70 mph. He could have killed someone and it made us s2000 drivers look bad...bastards!!!
im 18...i pay for my own S2000, every month with money left over for gas and whatever else. granted my parents pay my insurance...lol. when people see me in the car, im sure im taken as a punk kid. thats cool though, in my town, there are 3 S2000s, mine is one, so they can think what they want, and ill still go home with an S. Honestly, you get what you want to drive and don't worry about what other people think.

All the other S2000 owners I've met in my area are respectful, mature, and courteous, very few punk kids if any. Your results may vary. This board actually has a pretty good percentage of intelligent people who can construct a useful post, all while using proper grammar, spelling, and without once using the term "mad skillz."
Then again, if you're really THAT concerned with how a vehicles subliminal associations affect your image, perhaps you would be happier in a Hummer or a Porsche.

Porsche: I'd probably go this route if I didn't want a car that could be a daily driver. The old ones need too much maintenance and the new ones cost more than my house.
I'm just curious what other peoples experiences are as S owners. If I'm going to spend 30k on a car I want to be happy to see it when I walk out to the parking lot. That goes past what the car is and into what the car represents. When I started it represented "smart guy's sportscar" because it had good looks, good performance, good price and good reliability. I've been starting to get the "ricer camero" vibe more recently and wanted see who was out there driving them.

I'm 50+ and could care less how many "punk" kids drive S2K's.......you do sound a bit image conscience...I'm thinking you'd probably be better off in a new Ford 500, or perhaps a Grand Marquis might suit your taste
Damn. That's pretty shallow. I think you should get a BMW. Have you ever considered the other side of the coin? You know, the people who are like, "geez, I really like the S as a car but there's these cheese dick owners everywhere with their polo shirts and penny loafers..."
BTW, I'm a 29 year old architect and I'm a punk at heart. I'm sure you would be proud to have me as an S2000 owner but I certainly don't let my opinion of the car in all it's greatness be tainted by a small portion of the owners.
