Lotus' (is that Lotai) have always had starter buttons. It's a race thing. If you spin and stall the car you can still push a big red start button with your gloves on. Considering the repeated accounts of losing the rear end on cold S02's maybe it's a good thing.

get in the car, one motion to take out of gear and start, another motion to put on seat belt and put top down.

LV, don't know about Cessnas (never flown them) but the Pipers I fly all have turn the key starters.

add the upcoming Focus RS as another car putting a start button in their cockpit. (April EVO magazine)

Everyone who's been in the car gets a kick out of the start button. Gimmicky for sure but I like it.

The Grumman Tiger also has a push button starter. Now I'm right at home when I fly it, since reaching for the button is a habit. They want you to start it on the left mag only though-- go figure.

I have to say I really don't find it gimmiky. I actually like it. For the most part though I really don't notice it!
