Default Q for MY2002 Owners

How is your driver side seat leather looking? I've just noticed that there is a definite "pattern" (definitely not cracks but hints of lines) developing on the leather trim (door-side, the thingy that hugs your left waist-butt line, top-piece) while I was applying my Lexol Leather care. I didn't see it on the passenger side (I suppose not many people were in my S other than myself ). I have 2500 miles on and it's a bit disappointing to see this happening but then again this is my first leather trimed car. Just FYI, I've been applying Lexol almost every other day and let it sit overnight but I was driving a lot in the sun too. Do you know if Honda used a top quality leather or did they cut the corner on this? Are these leather cracks something that's inevitable? What are you guys doing about it? Thanks in advance.

You'll get those lines because getting in and out, you'll rub and squish those parts the most.

It's eventually gonna happen and even get worse. There's no preventing the fine lines and cracks. Leather conditioner will only help hide some of the lines.

Mine was apparent at 23 miles. I guess the ppl. at the dealership sat right onto that leather seat flap.

Sounds like you overdoing the Lexol. Leather experts tell me it should only be used a few times a year. A clean wet cloth when dirty is sufficient.

Yes, Honda cut corners on this with the choice of leather. It's a CHEAP leather that's very thin and subject to wear quickly. There are some threads on this if you perform a search. Good luck!
