Qestion on S2000 immobalizer
before i start i must say i have been a fan of this site for a very long time and must say you all have been very helpful with my of my S2000 question, so know my current question. i understad that you must have your key that you were given with the car to start it, if you have a copy made without the internal chip the engine will crank but no fuel will go to the engine to start it, so if you reset the ecu they way some people do to turn off the check engne light does it also reset the immobilzier? and i so if there is a copy key in the ignition with no chip does it just simply disable t all together?
the reason i'm wondering is cause my originals are missing, a long story in itself and all i have is a home depot copy that doesnt start, i went to honda and they need the original to make me a new copy they cant use the cut off my copy and place it onto a key with a chip in it, it has to be specully programed for the car, they even said my vin # wont work they need the key or the car.
and now my final thought if all else fails i know hondas have whats called a "break code" which will dissable the immobilizer temorarly so i can use the key i do have, this i didnt ask the dealership about. i have a friend in the repo buisness and he told me hes done it with other newer honda's its a sequence of thing you do to, something like turn the key on then off push the pelal 3 times then the turn the key back on, i'm not sure. if anyone has any info about this code PLEASE let me know so it'll save my baby a ride on the tow truck to get to the dealership, i cant imagine her on one of those things.
anything you s2000 experts can help me on will be GREATLY apprishiated

You will probably have to go through the proper channels on this one. (ie, honda)
I don't think too many people would even know how to bypass the immobilizer, and even then, I doubt too many S2000 owners would even want to share that information on how to bypass their security from theft!

There is one way to help yourself on this.
You can get aftermarket ECU and your problem is solved.
For the simplicity sake, I am mentioning about Mugen ECU.
Mugen ECU disables immobilizer so you can use your chipless copy key.
It is expensive but this will solve your problem quickly for a while.
$1500 and you will get benefit of great low end boost with advanced timing and won't suffer powercut if the running condition is little less than optimal.
But I sympathize with you.

Yup don't think owners would want to see this info posted anywhere for that matter. Also curious why your s2k age shows "0" when you state you've posted questions on this board before.

Here's how the system works:
The Key has a transponder in it. Sends power to the transponder when the key is in the ignition. The key sends a coded signal back thru the ICU to the PCM.
Yes, it can be hacked/bypassed but by no means of some break code pattern. I know how to do this but I wouldnt share it nor would anyone want to fuss with this when a dealer can fix it.
You have an advantage with the copy key. Tow the car flatbead to your dealer. They will make a copy from a blank with a transponder and simply reprogram it. It would run about $40-60 a key.
thanks for all the help, i knew i could go jdm ecu just wasnt ready to spend the money right now. and i never have posted anything before i've been reading info on your sight for over a year i even remember the old configuration with the black backround, i just never had any need to post all my question were solved with a search cause someone had already asked them.
like i said i just wanted to save myself a tow, but it looks like i got to go that way to get my new key cut, thanks anyway for you help
