Default question about deposit on an 04

i heard several other people mention they put a down on their s2k and later the dealer tryied to change the price on them at the last minute.... what should i do when i go put a deposit?? do they usually give a time frame of when the car will arrive and if they break that time frame can i get all my money back..???? my dealer claims a black is on the way, prob about a 1-2weeks , but later i dont want them saying it will be an extra month or so. if i change my mind in buying the car after a promise has been broken can i get my deposit back??? how much do you usually pay for a deposit?? does everyone get a signed contract when a deposit has been made and what should i look for in that written contract??? and one more question , is there anyway for me to make sure my dealer isn't lying about the black coming and really hes ordering it?? can i call someone to check or somethig???
thankssss
p.s . this has been the most stressful time in my whole life , buying this 04 berlina s2k, but when its all over i will and it will make it all worth it

Well, I know when I put my deposit down on my Spa, I didnt get any paperwork or anything. I went through a huge dealership and kept the receipt for my Money Order as a reciept myself. I dont know if it is non-refundable or not but I think it may be. They can sell it even if you back out.

As for the telling if it is coming or not, once it gets to CA shores, they should have a vin by then. If it's only 2 weeks away, that means they probably ordered it a while back. Mine was 6-8 weeks and showed up in 6 weeks. Besides, if it isnt the color you want, you can see about a dealer locate (but see if you can pick it up, otherwise they will drive it from dealership to dealership putting miles on it).

hope this kinda helps out, and glad to see you finally picked out the S you want

When I put down a deposit for my RSX-S, I had a written contract regarding it being refundable. It is up to the dealership whether to make deposits refundable or non-refundable, so make sure you get it signed in writing.
