i recently bought a hardtop, and im getting it installed in the next few days...I have a 2001, but installed the 2004 center console...i noticed that the defroster button really has no where to fit with a 2004 center console....does this mean i have to go back to my old MY01 console to use the defroster? any help would be greatly appreciated.

I wouldn't ditch the new console over a switch. You need to reposition the switch somewhere, where you put it just depends on how much work you want to put into relocating it. The MY04 has the switch in the dash, but you might consider it a PITA to put it there. Maybe hide it in the glove box? or cut a spot for it in the console.

 

Would it work if you got an '04 switch and put it where it goes in the dash?

I think the piece under the dash can be replaced on its own. Just get one from an 04 and put your cruise and def swithes on it.
