I dont get what you guys are talking about, when you upshift, the revs need to come down to meet the engine speed for the next gear. You shouldnt be touching the gas to rev match on an upshift.

with that all said, any car with synchros doesn't need to be double-clutched, the synchros essentially do this for you:
Manual transmissions in modern passenger cars use synchronizers to eliminate the need for double-clutching.
Final verdict: Double-clutching does nothing for a car with synchronizers. Just rev match on your downshifts and you will be fine.
Just to clarify for everyone that on upshifts you only need to manipulate the throttle if you take too long to shift and the engine rpm falls below the appropriate speed for the next gear. It should be mentioned that you can also upshift too quickly which will also cause additional wear on the clutch since it has to slow the engine down to the appropriate speed.
1. rev-matching the upshift means you let the revs drop to the range of the next gear, of course you dont blip the throttle. well, you could but you'll have to wait longer for the revs to drop. am i the only one who thinks that alot of you guys are not reading any of this with some common sense?
2. double clutching is no longer necessary, on the upshift or the downshift. double clutching was designed for older cars with no synchros. if you learned to double clutch on an older car with synchros, then thats just second nature for you. double clutching isn't bad its just no longer necessary.

I have a questions for the more informed then. When I approach a turn I'll disengage the clutch, brake hard and start going for the gear which I know I need to be in for the turn. Some times when going from 3rd or 4th gear into first the shifter fights me on putting it into first. I've actually had to ride the clutch through more then one turn. Any ideas? (22k miles btw)
And this has never happened on any other manuals I've driven, granted they were all slushboxes from ford.
