Default question about stock gearing

Is it normal for an s2000 in 6th gear 4500 RPM to be going 80MPH?

Yes. 6th gear on this car is set at a more aggressive gearing. By more aggressive I mean that the cruising RPM will be higher than typical "normal" cars (i.e. the usual coupes and sedans).

It's normal. Here is a great link for calculating vehicle speeds from engine speeds:

http://www.turnzero.com/technical_resource...gear_calculator

It has the AP1 and AP2 gearing stored in there.
