hey guys i have a question about s2000 rmp..

this is my first honda own.. i used to have rx7 and other brand..
the question is 5th and 6th gear ratio seems too high compare to other manufactures..

other brands goes up near 3000 rmp when i'm in 5th or 6th gear (depends on 5 speed or 6 speed) on 80mph...

but my car(2003 ap1) goes up near 4000 to 4500 on 70mph.. is it normal??

does s2000 made for high rpm??

 

Cruising at 70mph in 6th gear is going to give you around 4krpm.

My 05 AP2 is at 4krpm at 75mph.

 

the s2000 has a gear ratio made to reach max speed at the top of 6th gear out the factory. This is why the gearing is so close. It doesn't have a "lazy" gear so to speak, a "gas mileage" gear.
