Question on Cruise Control
when trying to engage the cruise control do you sometimes have to press "set" a couple times to get it to work? sometimes i jsut give up because it doesn't "catch"
I have never had that problem.
I did notice something funny last night. I had the cruise set, and took it out of gear to coast into a toll booth. Imagine my suprise when my cruise control suddenly took the engine all the way to redline!!
I guess the shut-out for the cruise happens when the clutch is depressed, not when the tranny is taken out of gear, since in this case I just took it out of gear and didn't push in the clutch all the way.

You have to be steady with the throttle, before you attempt to engage the cruise control. In my experience with various cars, it seems the cruise control system won't "catch" a particular speed as you are accelerating or decelerating. Instead, it will seem to engage only when at a steady speed already.
Give it a try next time and see.
