Question regarding TSB's
I bought a used 01 s2k on 6/10... I've been browsing the forum for the past two weeks trying to get as much info on the ap1 as possible.. I came across a page that is actually 5 pages long of TSB's... I found probably 3 or 4 that my car would fall under as far as noises and stuff. The ones I felt important were: rattling sound when letting off the gas in 2nd/3rd (clutch issue) and wind noise from the convertible. The car has abou 23k on it but is out of factory warranty because it passed three years (expired on 6/8/04). I could purchase an extended warranty but it's not from Honda. So my questions is:
WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS AND WHAT SHOULD I DO?
I did get my spark plugs replaced cuz of a recall when I bought the car and asked about the clutch issue. He said the car was out of warranty and couldn't do anything about it. He also said it wouldn't have a negative effect on the car but he didn't seem too sure when he answered me. If these issues won't affect the performance of the car, then disregard this post. Otherwise, any helpful feedback is appreciated. Thanks.

First, welcome to the "club".
TSBs are Technical Service Bulletins, they are not the same as warranty or recall issues. Recalls are always honored regardless of the age of the vehicle, if there is a recall issue, just take the car to any dealer and they will performe the recall service for free. Recall issues are usually safety related. Warranty items are manufacturing defects, those are limited by the age of the vehicle and the mileage of the vehicle. Wearable items (such as clutch, brake, tires, and so on) are never covered by warranty.
TSBs, on the other hand, are nothing more than a notice to the dealer service staff that "some cars may have this issue, and here is how to fix it". Dealers are not obligated to perform TSB repairs for free. Your car is still perfectly safe to drive -- though the driving experience may not be 100% satisfactory to you. TSBs are always performed at the discretion of the service manager (or service advisor), so everything depends on your relationship with the dealer service department. Some dealers are better at providing TSB services than others. I would suggest that you take your car to your local dealer and take a test drive with the service manager and let him/her experience the items you are concerned about. The worse they can say is to deny free TSB repairs. If one dealer would not do it, take it to another dealer, and so on. You may find one that is more customer oriented and will agree to do the TSB for free. Good luck.

Be aware that extended warranties will not always cover items from TSBs. For example, most warranties categorize the clutch as a "wear" item, and the warranty would not cover the clutch buzz TSB.

jlewy11.....the TSB's are here https://www.s2ki.com/user/content/view/full/259/ I just took my MY01 in to the dealer I bought it from and they denied the clutch buzz TSB. I am still under the 36,000 mile warranty. I took my car to Thomasville Honda in Thomasville Georgia and they ordered a clutch for me and will install it next week. Some dealers have customer service and some dealers pretend to have it.
