question for some 4.77 owners
ok........whats it like coming out of a tight parking spot.......do u have to worry about macking into the bumpers of the cars you're parked in between..???
I know i'm asking simple questions that mostly revolve around how good u are with manual driving......but i wanna see everyone's persepective on these gears

no doubt....thats what i figured
are there any real downsides to the 4.77 ????
maybe a lil gas mileage.....some top end ....but who drives at 90 anyway....anything significantly noticeable?

Get them with the understanding that they are for fun and limited small track aplications, but realize that they arent nescisarely going to propell your car the fastest in a strait line. The s2000 handles awesome, It needs a little more balance in the strait line performamce so I have modded mine accordingly with this in mind along with bolt on's.
I should also mention that as your power goes up the more the higher gear ratio's are a draw back for maximum acceleration. Stock for stock the difforence in gearing is smaller but still apperent. Have fun with the 4.77's but understand the distiushment between your bennifit of added tq multiplication and all out acceleration of the lower gears. Realize that in a drag race your rpms never dip below Vtec so top end performace is where your at. As soon as you shift out of first gear your at a disatvantage with the 4.77's. With this in mind, You only need enough gear reduction to get your rpms to fall withen an optimum range of the s2000 power band. To much multiplication and you will lose car acceleration but be able to pull a trailer. Not enough and your cars power band will be streached to thin and your engine will bog. 4.44's are right at the sweat spot baby! Ok get it?
I recommend to anyone to try my tire mod sice it is free, assuming you need a replacement, before investing in the wrong gear set. Do some dragging with them and get an understanding how your car responds to the changes before jumping right into an extreme. I understand the idea of getting the most for your money but more gear isn't always the better choice so take some time to do your own resurch and play around with the diforent sets if you can so you will have first hand experiance before your investment. thats all I can say about it. Good luck!
you will notice every gear lasts shorter....gears affect the entire rpm range....u will not step on the gas and a flux capacitor ignites and u hit another car...from a dead stop u will shift earlier and at a lower mph all the way through your gears as compared to stock...this is not a wonder mod i dont want u to get hype and be dissapointed...
