lol, this thread makes me laugh. the reason why you dont see anything is because the oil is BRAND NEW, so its color is hard to be noticed on the stick. as for some of you commenting on the oil filter thing, yes, its a good thing to pour oil into the filter before installing, so it already has oil in it when the engine fires up.

That should help you.
Here's a last post to conclude the saga. Then, perhaps a Forum mod will choose to delete this thread, since it seems so idiotic, with me being the big idiot at the center of it.
I did a standard oil change. For the sake of brevity, let's say I did everything correctly. When I went to check the dipstick, I could see little or no oil on it. This troubled me, although new oil, esp. in a new engine, is liable to be so clean and clear that it might be a little hard to see. Also, I simply find the S2000 dipstick hard to read, either because I have shit vision or because of its design.
Anyway, I took the car on a 20 mile spin (surface streets, no high revving). Everything was fine. Everything was as right as rain, as right as the mail. No noise, no warning lights, no warning buzzers, no unusual anything.
Once back at home, I did a standard check of the dipstick (i.e., wait for the oil to drain from the head into the sump, etc.). Still can't see much of a reading on it. (Same on cold check this morning, by the way.)
So it goes, as the late Kurt Vonnegut was wont to say. But I'm not going to worry about it. Except that I ended by putting 5.3-5.4 qts. of oil in it instead of the prescribed 5.1 qts. And it's bugging me.
Thanks for your help, gents.
