I'm in California, a 23 y/o male with no points on my license. I'm using Esurance (www.esurance.com) and I'm paying $1500/year.

I'm 54, and I have myself, my wife and my 17 year old on the policy. For all of that we pay Geico about $3,000 per year. I think thats pretty good for New Jersey.

I think you have to consider what kind of coverage and you deductables for a valid comparison.
i think this is a steal

Geico is changing how things work here in Jersey. I know the company my mother works for is looking to revise things and are pushing (with several other brokers) for the various insurance companies to lower there rates to be competitive. Cause right now Geico is putting them out of business.

NJM is still the best though

Personally I love the state farm commercials "we may cost more, but we'll drive you 100 miles to rent a car"

I am an insurance agent. We represent companies that do business in nearly all 50 states. However, NJ is one of the few states with laws so RIDICULOUS that it makes it very cost prohibitive for insurance companies to do business there. Unfortunately this hits consumers very hard because the insurance companies that DO operate within the state can charge pretty much whatever they want, because there is much less competition there than in most other states. One of my company reps said that his company will never try to sell insurance in any state that begins with "New" and ends in "Jersey". LOL

wow you guys are getting some $$$ quotes.

my cars and my house are insured through first trenton. My 02 as a rec. vehicle (3rd car) is only running me $1000 year. full coverage. they are also great to deal with. if you search you will see i owned an 01 last year for 10 days and they totalled it out no problem with no delays. i actually received more than i payed for it. my insurance did go up a little on the civic i drive but nothign too bad. i am 27 years old with clean record besides the accident last year.
