Default Radio/CD player

Hi,

I was after some advice as you guys have always helped me out with great advice and tips.

My cd/radio player is not working, well is but very intermittently. I can hear almost a feint whisper of background noise but no music/words can be heard.

I have had the radio out and all connections in the rear of the radio have been checked.

Any other ideas or do you think I'm going to need to replace the radio?

Thank you in advance for your reliable advice everyone.

Sounds like a problem with the head unit (HU) as you have checked for the usual suspects. A new HU will be a pleasant surprise from the old stock radio. Link below on a discussion of wiring for those HUs. You will find a HU with more watts will produce a better sound, not just "louder".

I replaced my OEM radio with an Alpine SXM-145BT. Very nice unit with all the bells & whistles of modern technology!

You can get the entire radio, not just the front panel (head unit) on youtube for under $US100 or so. Not worth trouble shooting the original.
