I don't have a problem with the door hitting me either, but I can't see that it was changed for '02 - must be a leg length/seat position issue. It'd be nice if they left a little window to show the clock time, methinks.

I don't like how the latch catcher is easy to bump with your hand when going for radio controls. How long's it going to be until the "living hinge" is worn out???

Well, I take back that you should use it from an old motorized device, they tend to be the reason the device doesn't work

I just wish somebody would come out with a glass panel conversion. I suggested this months ago.

The silicone grease won't help entirely. You need to get a rubber that is not subject to deterioration from within. Long chains of durable hydrocarbons. Silicone, neopreme, etc. Stationary department bands are who-knows-what!

I put a tweeter housing and grill on the left side of the cover to allow my remote to work. I have since made it neater on the back side of the cover as the picture is blurry and only shows the back side. The front looks like a tweeter grill that sits flush to the front. I covered the lighted knob so that the blue light from the display does not not show through.

I used a dremel on the back and covered it with a thin smoked plactic piece that the remote transmits thru. Maybe I'll get an updated picture soon

Some days I hate the look of it, but it does serve its purpose and it looks fine 99.5% of the time. Besides before I cut into it, I got a new radio door cover for like ten bucks from a wrecked members car. So in ten minutes it is back to new.

I bought a cheap large size digital clock and stuck on the console cover with HD double sided outdoor tape. it now sits a few milimeters proud of the console thereby missing my knee. Would post a picture if I new how.

I am 6'1"' and I have never hit my knee on the radio door when it was open, not even when I try to do it. It must be an issue with height/leg length/seat position...

Try getting in the car after it's left open... can be quite painful.
