Does anyone have a problem when opening their radio door? I have a MY04, 2 weeks old, and i have some issues when opening it. If i just tap on it to open, it wont fully open. I have to like push it in hard and wait for the click, then let go and hope it will open. Its kinda hard to explain.

shouldnt it just open even on the slightest touch? its so annoying!

 

Sounds goofy. Take it back to the dealer.

 

There is a small spring on the left hand side of the door. It's probably snapped or near broken.

My 2001 has the same issue and you have to either replace the spring or the entire assembly. The spring costs about $4.00 from the dealer and you can swap it out yourself.

I also bought a 2004 door panel too when I did my swap.

Mines sticky - if its cold it wont fold down all the way but rather will come out just enough to grab & pull down. That & the roof not opening fully are the only two complaints.

 

i had to remove mine to install my rear speakers and when i put it back i had the sticking problem, i took the door out and reinstalled it, this time putting the bottom in first, my point is that you may just have a door that is slightly out of it's mounting points, perhaps you can gently, gently tap it back into the dash, or push it bottom and top pressure back into the mounting tabs. if that does not work you may have a defective door assemble, takes a dealer 10 min to take out old door and install new, depends on experience.
